In her opening speech addressing the AIAG & VDA FMEA Alignment, Rhonda L. Brender (Engineering Manager, Nexteer Automotive) talked about the upcoming changes in FMEA creation. An informative and entertaining lecture, which gave the participants the opportunity to ask their questions about the up-coming demands of AIAG and the VDA.

Customer Presentations – learning from best practices

Rafael Alvarez (FMEA Project Leader, General Motors) reported in his presentation "FMEA Selection Process and High Level Plans" how the selection process for the FMEA tool used group-wide at GM took place. As a supplement, Scott Stuart (Enterprise Architect, GM) reported on the implementation of the project in his presentation "Scalability for Enterprise Applications with e1ns".

With Stephen Mellott (Sr. Engineer) from Tenneco NA also a leading supplier to the automotive industry was represented. As an experienced user of the PLATO FMEA solution, he showed the participants a proven best practice example of the “System Design FMEA for a Suspension Corner Module in PLATO SCIO™.
