Current trends of the automotive and medical technology industry
Once again, experts from the engineering as well as risk and quality management followed the invitation of PLATO AG and discussed current trends of the automotive and medical technology industry during the two conference days.
True to the motto, Prof. Dr. Robert Schmitt (RWTH Aachen / Fraunhofer IPT) went beyond FMEA in his keynote speech "From reactive quality management to predictive quality". Not only did he talk about existing empirical values that we can learn from, he also called on us to talk about the future in order to break new ground in quality management and promote innovation.
In his lecture "The 7 Steps in Theory and Practice", Martin Werdich (FMEA Plus Academy) presented an approach for the implementation of VDA/AIAG Alignment. He supplements the new 6 steps described in the last draft of the FMEA manual by a 7th step: "Presentation” as basis for decision-making. In that way, all stakeholders can derive optimum benefit from the FMEA.
Customer presentation: FMEA in a global development project at Knorr-Bremse
The three speakers Andreas Petschke (Knorr-Bremse), Alfred Löw (Knorr-Bremse) and Andreas Wilhelm (PLATO Certified Consultant, TechSolute) showed what a successful FMEA project with PLATO can look like. The field report gave our participants an insight into a project that was successfully implemented in 30 countries, at 100 locations on all continents.
News from PLATO development
Of course, there was also information about the current status of the PLATO software. Besides insights into the newest and upcoming features by Marcus Schorn (CTO, PLATO AG), representatives of our new system partner, itemis AG introduced their solution YAKINDU Traceability. Together with itemis, PLATO e1ns can now be even better integrated into heterogeneous system environments. In his lecture and corresponding expert forum, Dr. Dennis Röck (itemis AG) gave our participants a detailed insight into "Innovative Interface Management for Integrated System Development with PLATO e1ns and YAKINDU Traceability".
We look back on 2 successful and informative conference days. Many thanks again to all participants and speakers for the inspiration and the intensive exchange of experiences.
